Scratching the Surface vs. Digging Deep

Some people will barely scratch the surface, others get to the root and try to solve it. When you never dig deep enough to find your demons they will continue to haunt you no matter how many people you cut outta your life, how much you try to change your lifestyle, no matter how much you claim you're a good Christian, or how many city and state lines you move across. Scratching the surface will never set you free. Putting in the time and effort, waiting on God and his promise for you, and having a solid foundation that will not be moved no matter how much the devil tries to chip away at you, will keep you grounded. Know that God isn't a fan of the quick fix. He wants you grounded in his word and in your faith. Once you are, once you get to the root, and tackle your demons, you will be covered. He has his hands on you!

50/50 Get Your End Up!

Its hard sometimes for people to surrender to and put their faith and trust in the Lord. We want things when we want them. We do 5yr plans and make lists and give ourselves deadlines, but how often do we consult the creator? The fact of the matter is that he has his hands in everything. He takes us through things so that when we come out on the other side, we are more prepared to deal with life and its challenges. He breaks hearts and we get angry. We question why He would ever do something like this to us. He puts us in a financial bind, jobless, penniless, homeless, and we tell ourselves he doesn't exist. If he did exist, these things would never happen. What we fail to realize is God isn't doing these things to us, He is doing them "for" us. For us to get on the right path, for us to appreciate the important things and not the superficial, for us to know that at the end of the day, He has our backs. HE creates the storms but he also provides rainbows. He breaks hearts to show you what you don't want and gives you true love to show you that you are worthy. He will always provide, but you have to do your part as well. Don't act as though you are entitled when you haven't done anything to show him your loyalty. Remember, God doesn't do one sided relationships. He goes in 50/50 y'all. So get your end up!

New Year, I'm Ready

Devil, you thought you were gonna unexpectedly pluck the seed planted and leave me broken, stress me out with haters and misinformed spectators, keep me down with diabetes, break my heart, lie to me about a future and building a foundation, strip me of family and friends, abandon me, leave me with unanswered questions while you danced and rejoiced, you thought you were gonna weigh me down with pounds and keep me in a battle with my body and clothes, make times hard, bills even harder, and dollars even fewer. You thought you were going to leave me bitter and angry, and constantly in tears, asking why, how, and who would do something like this, but I have a surprise for you that you weren't banking on. Though you doubted, and at times questioned my knowledge regarding what a woman of God is, I am here, still standing, with all that you have done, and all that He, my GOD, has pulled me through to let you know, YOU DIDN'T WIN! I AM VICTORIOUS. I AM A WOMAN OF GOD!!! 2012, I'm ready for all the blessings that will come to me. Devil, you are released!!
